Junior
Quarter Horse Gelding
Arrived: November 2014
RIP: July 2018
Junior arrived at Borderlands on a cold November day. Junior’s previous owner wanted to ensure he had a safe retirement as his riding days had recently ended. Junior was also a very hard keeper and required a large amount of grain mash every night. Junior loved his nightly grain and getting the chance to hang out in his stall away from the others. Junior wasn’t always thrilled with wearing a blanket but Borderlands staff made sure to avoid his back end where he was very uncomfortable. Junior came to Borderlands with a note saying he kicked if anyone messed with his hind legs. We made sure to avoid his hind legs, which made blanketing an issue.
In the summer of July 2018, Junior’s body could no longer handle the rigors of life and we said goodbye to Junior.
